1. Introduction
Connection Labs LLC ("GetKnown," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the GetKnown mobile application (the "App"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account or use the App, we may collect:
- Email address
- Name or display name
- Password (stored in encrypted form — we do not have access to your plain-text password)
- Payment information (processed securely by Apple, Google, or Stripe; we do not store credit card or payment credentials details on our servers)
2.2 Biometric Authentication
GetKnown offers optional biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) as a convenient way to access your account. When you enable this feature, your biometric data is processed entirely by your device's operating system and secure hardware (Apple Secure Enclave on iOS, Android Keystore on Android). GetKnown never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric data in any form. We store only an encrypted authentication token in your device's secure storage, which is used solely to restore your session upon successful biometric verification. You may disable biometric access at any time by signing out of the app.
2.3 App Interaction and Progress Data
The App stores limited interaction and progress information necessary to operate the program experience, including:
- Completed daily exercises
- Program progress and stage completion
- Streak and XP data
- Days active within the App
- Temporary exercise selections used to personalize and display weekly program content
Any exercise selections are stored locally on the user’s device using encrypted local storage and are not transmitted to GetKnown servers or stored in a centralized database. The selections never leave the user's device and GetKnown never sees them.
GetKnown does not collect free-text journal entries, personal narratives, or open-ended written responses from users. The App experience is primarily based on structured tap interactions.
2.4 Device and Technical Data
We may automatically collect:
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Crash reports and error logs
- General usage analytics (e.g., session duration, features accessed)
2.5 Information We Do Not Collect
GetKnown does not collect:
- Location data
- Contacts or address book data
- Camera or microphone data
- Social media profile information
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App
- Track your program progress and deliver the correct daily content
- Process your subscription and manage your account
- Send transactional communications (e.g., account confirmation, subscription notices)
- Improve the App through aggregated, anonymized analytics
- Respond to your customer support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your personal information to deliver targeted advertising.
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 Service Providers
We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including:
- Cloud hosting and storage providers
- Analytics providers (receiving only aggregated, anonymized data where possible)
- Customer support tools
- Payment processors (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Stripe)
These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable law.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process, including to comply with a court order, subpoena, or government request.
4.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice in the App of any such change in ownership.
4.4 We Do Not Sell Your Data
GetKnown does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Correction
You may access and update your account information at any time through the App settings.
6.2 Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and personal data using the delete account button within the App or by contacting us at contact@getknownjourney.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6.3 Opt-Out of Communications
You may opt out of non-transactional communications (such as marketing emails) by following the unsubscribe instructions in those communications or by contacting us directly.
6.4 California Residents
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. 7. Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the App.
